    Shared Spreadsheet

    Hi

I have created a spreadsheet where one of the options is a drop down list using a validate cell function.

The options are G A R. short for green amber and red. When you select the colour it fills the box with that colour. When you hit the submit button it copy and pastes the cells to another location. Because the Sheet is Shared you cannot validate the new cell. So the box does not change colour.

Has anyone got a suggestion of how i can make this work without manually filling the box in its new location?

    Hi, Dave.

Where is the other location? On the same worksheet? Why not just use validation to change the new location cells when the original validation cells are changed? That way, at least based on your description, it would appear that the submit button would not be needed.
