    how to use Date Stamping

Hi Everyone, I have recently been introduced to Excel at my new job and thrown in at the deep end. I am a complete novice but have managed to set up an audit type system. I have 3 worksheets with columns for entering equipment ect. However I need to show a date that all or any of the columns have been modified. Basically to show date of last audit. I have read through the forum but unfortunately not experienced to enter anything else except for cell formulas. The three sheets are from three separate areas and so could be modified at different times. Could anyone help me solve this problem i have.

Many thanks! Apologies for not finding the rules of posting threads

    That's a champion title, shaun

Now if you do Search, click Advanced Search, enter Date Stamp, and select Titles only from the drop down, you'll see 13 threads where this question has been answered. That's why we put an emphasis on thread titles.

Please post back if none of them solve your problem, and we'll walk you through it.

    Date stamping solutions please

There is some great stuff on this forum Unbelievable!

Anyway i am still baffled being a mere one week old beginner. The answer could be staring me square on and i would bypass it. I will explain my audit sheet layout.

I have one summary sheet (not an issue) Then i have 3 other worksheets for 3 different areas. The date stamp on each of the worksheets needs to only show date of last audit. These however be 3 different dates on each individual worksheet.
Cells are A6-J6 Width and A-J 33 Long I need the marco to cover every cell so if an item has been placed or removed in the rows the last audit date will show in E2. This is the same as on all 3 area worksheets. Someone help please!

Please post a workbook with some dummy data and explain exactly what you want in context.

Thanks for taking the time to have a look for me. As you can see i have one summary sheet and 3 area worksheet. At present i have the date (E2) formulated to show the present date. What i need is each or the area worksheets (Preston-chorley-South Ribble) to show what date they were last modified within cell (e2). This will then act as the last audit date. Thanks in advance for advise. I am a complete novice so i apologise for not explaining myself clearly.

    How to date stamp

Many thanks for your help and code. However i thought i had it cracked until the 1st September. Then when i went to test again the date shows up as
################ in the cell. It worked though the remaining days of August but decided not to play when September the 1st arrived. Is there a problem with my date format. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
