Terminate use of workbook if today greater then given date

I created a simple spreadsheet which I intend to make available to others. I would like to find a way to make it inoperative after a future date and display a message like "Your subscription has expired. Please contact ........"

Point me in the right direction please. Any suggestions appreciated.

    Welcome to the forum.

First, you need to force users to enable macros. You can search the forum and the web to find many examples.

Then you need code in the Open event to check the date and close the workbook if appropriate.

The protect the VBA project with a long random password.

If you're new to Excel, this is not a great place to start.
