    Excel Vehicle & Equipment tracker

Would appreciate advise on whether excel could be used to record and track the movements of company vehicles and equipment. I have been advised by someone that we need either an access database or bespoke programme writing for this. I only know the basics of excel so not sure if excel is an option. Example of what is required - Record purchase details of new equipment, record maintenance history, record who is using and what site it is on, record when next service/calibration check is required (for vehicles - record when MOT/tax is due), record damages.

    Thanks

A database such as Access would probably be a better solution to record keeping of this nature.

You could use Excel to do this, Access is of course specifically for Databases
    Hope that helps.
