Column will not sort everything.

I am trying to sort a column with numbers from ascending to descending and only half of the numbers get sorted. I have cleared all the formats and it still happens. What can I do to make everything sort? Thanks in advance.

1. post a work book
2. are all numbers either numbers/text numbers or is the a mixture of both
test in a spare column =istext(a1) and drag down it should all say true or all say false.
3.if they are mixed select column
go data/text to columns click next,next again make sure data format is general. click finish. then try again

Thanks for your quick reply! Some of the columns had leading and ending spaces. I removed them and now it sorts. Thank you.
