    < or > Formulas

    Good morning. I am a novice when it comes to excel and need help with a formula similar to the following:

    =(H3+J3)-L3 >


    Would anyone have a minute to tell me what am I doing wrong?

    thank you - lovin the flag by way (former Texas girl myself)

    H3=costs to date
    J3=accrued P/L
    L3=billings

    what I need is the number greater than billings in one column and less than billings in another column.

    Still not sure what you mean.

    Maybe =MAX(H3+J3-L3, 0) in one column and =MIN(H3+J3-L3, 0) in the other.

    So sorry - I got caught up with other things and just now am getting back to this.

    I think we're close - it's bringing up *NAME? where the difference should be. I'll keep trying but so appreciate the help and will more than likely be back if not for this issue, another.
