Opening CSV in Notepad with commas separating

Ok, this problem seems very easy in theory, so I can't understand why I am having problems with it. Basically, I am exporting a list of emails within Excel as a .csv. I want to be able to open the .csv within notepad and have each email address separate by a comma, which I thought would already be formatted as, but I get this when opening:

    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]

Instead of this (which I want):
[email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]

Can someone help me with what seems to be a simple problem?

csv files separate items within the same row by commas. So first,
Insert a blank row before your data.

Copy your email addresses (If your working pre Excel 2007, you'll need to do this in groups of 256 as that's the max columns)

Paste Special>Transpose your values into that empty row

    Delete the old values.
    Does that work for you?
