    Date changes when copying cell

    Hello! First-time poster.

I have two documents that contain cells formatted for dates. Columns in both documents are formatted the same way. When I highlight a row of cells in one document and paste it into the second document, the year changes from '09' to '13'.

Is there a way to fix this without having to "paste special" each time? (I have 1904 date system checked on both.)

    Thanks for your help!

    Welcome to the forum.

Sounds like you really don't have 1904 date system in the first workbook.

Enter the same date (any date) in both workbooks, and format the cells as General. Are the numbers the same?

Sounds like the OP has changed it but not saved it in that format

Doh! Second sheet had it checked; the first sheet did not. Thanks for your help! And for the welcome.
