    Simple Blank Rows Question

Hey all. I'd like to know how to eliminate all these blank rows after my data. My data ends at row 145, yet I have rows going down to 65536. I don't want to hide them and can't delete them, b/c more just appear. Is there a way I can insert something after my data or a way to set the range or area of where my data is? This is making my relatively small file massively large.

Thanks for the help in advance.

    Re: Simple Blank Rows Question

Thank you so much. The add-in solved my problem. Much appreciated.

I do have a follow-up question. Now my vertical scroll bar is very long and I can't use it to move around the spreadsheet. If I move it down, it takes me to the end of my spreadsheet and if I move it up, it takes me right back to the top of my spreadsheet, no in between. Is there something I can do to make the scroll bar smaller?

Thanks again for the help and patience.

    Re: Simple Blank Rows Question

No it isn't the right size. I am actually using 281 rows in my spreadsheet and if I move the bar up the smallest amount, it goes to the very top and the same if I go down, it goes right to the bottom of the spreadsheet. There's no in between. I can't use the bar to scroll up a few rows or down a few rows. It's either the very top or the very bottom when I use the scroll bar.

My spreadsheet has alot of tabbed worksheets and if I go back awhile and select an older worksheet, the scroll bar is like an 1" long and I can use it normally. But when I select my current worksheet, the scroll bar almost touches the up and down arrows that are above and below the scroll bar.

I'm not sure what I can do to correct this and I have tried searching various combinations of scroll bar, vertical scroll bar, too long, etc and haven't come across an answer.

    Any ideas?

Post a workbook that demonstrates the bad stuff.

I'd love to but the info is classified (yes, seriously).

    Re: Simple Blank Rows Question

I doubt the problem is a result of the classified data. Substitute unclassified data.

    Re: Simple Blank Rows Question

I can substitute the data on the first worksheet, but there are other worksheets dating back to '06. Is there a way I can delete them all at one time, or just save the worksheet I'm working on and not have it include all the rest of the worksheets?

    Re: Simple Blank Rows Question

You can copy the problematic sheet to a new workbook (right click the table, Move or Copy, ...), verify that the problem still exists, and post that.

    Re: Simple Blank Rows Question

I just copied and pasted the worksheet I was working on into a new Excel file. The problem is still there. I tried to attach it and it's 1.5 MB. I've been deleting unnecessary things, but to get it below 1 MB, there won't be anything left in the worksheet.

Sorry for the delay. I zipped the file and attaching it. Please let me know what you think and if you have any problems with the file.

    Thanks.

Open the VBE (Alt+F11), open the Immediate window (Ctrl+G), and enter
Please Login or Register to view this content.
Then go back to Excel, create a new sheet, copy the data (A1:J35 in your example), and paste twice on the new sheet: once normally, and the second Paste Special > Column widths.

Then recreate the chart and delete the original sheet.
