    AutoFilter 2 columns

I'm using Excel 2007 and I can easily click and drag to select 2 whole colums side by side and then select the auto filter button (this gives me that little arrow icon on the top row). But if I select 2 colums which are not side by side I get an error about not being able to do multiple selections?

Is there a way around this? I'd like to select column A and column I and set them up so they have that little arrow icon allowing for easy custom filter.

    Thanks!

Select all the cells from the left column to the right column -- one contiguous range.

I think that is what I will have to settle with. I selected A to I and have the auto filter on all of them. I can't see a way to select just A and I.

You can remove the intervening dropdowns via VBA -- I don't know that it can be done via the UI.
