Question Number ranking and date lookup

Sorry guys, I'm a idiot really

I can't post a worksheet here, they limit our internet computer and it has no excel and I don't have my flash drive

    One column has dates
    2nd column has numbers

I need a formula(s) that finds the highest number in the 2nd column and the corresponding date it falls on in the first column.

This is for a file where I work, haven't done excel in years and I forget a bunch of it, any help would be greatly appreciated........

Re: A little help please (simple)

Could you please change your thread title to something descriptive of the problem? Something along the lines of "Number ranking and date lookup". Then perhaps post an example of your workbook and we'll get you set up in no time.

Edit: I'm merely echoing mewingkitty - don't mean to bombard you !

Welcome to the Board, however, I'm afraid...

Your post does not comply with Rule 1 of our Forum RULES. Your post title should accurately and concisely describe your problem, not your anticipated solution. Use terms appropriate to a Google search. Poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice will be addressed according to the OP's experience in the forum: If you have less than 10 posts, expect (and respond to) a request to change your thread title. If you have 10 or more posts, expect your post to be locked, so you can start a new thread with an appropriate title.
To change a Title on your post, click EDIT then Go Advanced and change your title, if 2 days have passed ask a moderator to do it for you.

Perhaps something along the lines of: Conditional Lookup
