I have a column of time like 07:20:05 increasing by 1 second. I want to thin this data out so I only keep the time every 10 seconds not every 1 second. Is there a quick was of doing this instead of going down the column manually and editing it???

Hi,
assuming the times are in column A, then in B1, type 1, 2, 3 down to row 10, then select those ten cells and hold Ctrl key and copy down as far as you have times in column A, then select both columns and Sort by column B > Decending

Hi Deane
do you mean that you have a column with an entry for each unit of time, like
07:20:05
07:20:06
07:20:07
07:20:08,
and you want to delete everything except
07:20:00
07:20:10
07:20:20 etc?
