How to format an entire column except Header

I want the values in the column to be, for example, currency, but I don't think I want to apply that to the header, and I want all entries in that column to be so formatted (that is, I want the formatting to be for EVERY cell in that column except the header.

I just tried this and it worked for me. I just clicked on the top of the column and then clicked on the currency format after that I changed the top row in the column back to general. It will show all of the cells as blankt still but if a number is entered it will show it as currency.

Yes, while this is not the solution I would think I would find, this works: it' also easy to change the heading format back by using that paintbrush thing that copies formatting (from another header cell, after the entire column has been changed) from a properly formatted header cell to the header cell that was changed to currency. Thanks for your help. Oh, and should I be marking this "solved," and if so, how do I do that?
