Exclamation [ ] mean what for Excel (calculation)

    Hi,

I'm doing a surface area calculation ex: 2[(48x36)+(48x16)+(36x16)]/144 but I can't figure out what [ ] means for excel (excel 2003).

    Any idea?

In Excel you would enter it like this:

    =2*((48*36)+(48*16)+(36*16))/144

[] are not used in Excel.
Where there is a will there are many ways.
