    duplicate rows...merge cells

hello, there is my problem: i have 4 columns, one for number, one for name, one for family member and other for family member name.

my problem is that the majority of the persons have father and mother so i have to repeat number and name of each person and i just want one... for example i have a person like this.

    number-------------------name-------------------------family member--------family member name
3 Mário Moreira Campos Father Rui Campos
3 Mário Moreira Campos Mother Virginia Moreira

and i just only want one indication of the number and the name like this

    number-------------------name-------------------------family member--------family member name
3 Mário Moreira Campos Father Rui Campos
    Mother Virginia Moreira

, i know that i could use merge cells for the number and fot name but i have more than 4000 lines..it is a lot...

i also can eliminate the duplicates but then how i can catch father and mother

    could someone knows a solution?

in attach i send a file with some of my data.

    regards

    Mário

    Hello
Please have a look at attached copy
sheet 1 puts it into the reqired format (I think any way), sheet 1 (2) is a copy of the first except rows E, F, G have been copied, special pasted, values.
You are free to data sort and remove unnessary rows.
    Regards

    Re: duplicate rows...merge cells

Please have a look at this, first sheet sorts duplicates.
Copy and special paste, values over top of column A and B.
Sorry this is the only way I can think of getting it into the format you want, except first two columns are not merged.
If niether of the supplied are correct I would have to do some research, I would imagine it will need VBA, and I can't write it.
    Sorry
