    time series plot

    Could we start a time series plot in excel with october 1st as the first point and september 30 as the last point on the x axis

    That's just sooo vague; but, yes. Put the dates in column A and the corresponding data in column B. With titles in row one, select B2 and click insert chart, line (or what ever...)
