    Linking 2 worksheet

I would like to setup a formula that will link a worksheet to another.

When the user types a number for example "2" in worksheet 1. I want it to go out to worksheet 2 and look in column A for "2". Once you find it fill in the information in Worksheet 1 using the information in that row from Worksheet 2.

    For Example

Worksheet 1 (User fills in Line Number)
    Line Number/ Qty/ Part Number
    2

    Worksheet 2
    Line Number/Qty/Part Number
    2 500 AS4589

    Worksheet 1 (now looks like)

    Line Number/Qty/Part Number
    2 500 AS4589

    Re: Linking 2 worksheet

    =VLOOKUP(A2,Sheet2!A:C,2,FALSE) for quantity
    =VLOOKUP(A2,Sheet2!A:C,3,FALSE) for part number

Assuming the information is in columns A to C. If not, you will need to research VLOOKUP and adjust as required.

Red face Re: Linking 2 worksheet

We have an outdated Spreadsheet with approximately 500 part numbers, we would like to update the pricing from a seperated Master Spreadsheet, which has thousands of part numbers. Is their a formula that would allow the 2 spreadsheets to interact with one another, flooding the outdated spreadsheet with new prices, by recognizing part numbers?

    Hope that's not to confusing!

@ilco: please do not tag your question onto the back of someone else's.

If you feel it has some similarity, cross refer to it but post your own question.
