    Replacing . with a /

    Morning,

I would appreciate any help you could give on this.

I have a column of figures such as 9.01 up to about 16.13. I am trying to import this into another program (SIMs which is a MIS I think?)

For it to work in SIMs I need to change the . to /

However when I've tried it changes the value in the cell into strange values or dates, etc.

    Any ideas please?

    hi Cmorgan
Have you tried formating the cells as text or general?

Yes, I've tried this but it changes to a date or strange number - and I can't automatically change the date back to what I need.

    Thanks

You can use a formula in a helper column, like: =SUBSTITUTE(A1,".","/")

then you can copy that column and paste special >> Values over the original.. and delete the helper.
Where there is a will there are many ways.
