Embedded calender in Excel Pro + 2007

    Hi

I am using excel 2007 in one of my machine and have used= EMBED("MSComCtl2.DTPicker.2","") for embedded calender. This is working fine in the 2007 version but when I transferred the file to my other machine, which has a Professional Plus 2007 version, I am unable to use the date feature. Is there any other way of doing this (Without using VB Please)?

    Thanks for any help.

    Pal

    Hi pal_slg,

There has been many changes to the old Calendar control and now it is as you find, DTPicker. I believe the old ActiveX Control of Cal had some security issues.
Here is a thread about the problems http://www.teachexcel.com/excel-help...o.php?i=196205
Find attached an example I made using 2010.

Use a non-ActiveX date picker. There are loads available. This means that the Calendar is constructed from a user form in your VBA application and you dont have to rely on users having MS or third party controls (OCX files) on their machine. Do a search on Google.

You need to use VBA. There's a free addin which you can install, then the workbook will not require VBA.

    Free Date Picker

Thre's also a userform calendar there as well
    Hope that helps.
