Question linking to a workbook in a access restricted folder

We have two workbooks a timesheet and a tracking sheet placed in a network with many users. All users have their own tracking sheet and a single common timesheet placed in a access restricted folder. The problem is when a tracking sheet is linked with the timesheet it doesn’t work. Can anyone help me with linking these workbooks without affecting the access rights?

    Hi Arun,
Without having access rights of that particular folder, no one can access the workbook or worksheet even by clicking on the Hyperlink.

Is there any way placing the timesheet globally but no users must have access to it? Please Help

    Hi Arun,

If you are using any kind of lookup function, it will work without having access to that folder.
However every time you will get the promt to update the values after opening the workbook (you have lookup).
As of now no other option I can think of accessing the workbook from restricted folder.
