Can you fit multiple hyperlinks in a single cell on a Excel Spreadsheet

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could give me a definitive answer on the question in the title thread.

I am creating an Excel spreadsheet and I have to reference multiple documents in some of the cells on the spreadsheet.

I am also required to create hyperlinks to the actual document files for each of these references.

I have looked elsewhere and it would seem that I can only create one hyperlink for each cell of an Excel spreadsheet and cannot create seperate hyperlinks for different portions of text within a single cell.

However I thought I would raise this query on the forum as I would feel a lot more happy with an authoritative 'no' from one of the Excel genii on here.

Also if there are any easy cheats on how I can do this, (I have heard reference to creating multiple text boxes - is this messy?) any info would be much appreciated.

I think the "cheat" you are talking about would be to insert shapes (ie. rectangles) over the cell containing your text. Format the shapes having no fill and no border so that they are invisible. Attach a hyperlink to each one. The end effect would be that the shape over a portion of the text would hyperlink somewhere while another shape over another portion of the text would hyperlink somewhere else.

That sounds exactly like what I need. It should be a perfectly usable method to serve my purpose.
