Need help in copying formulas to other rows

    Hello all

For some unknown reason excel fails to detect the pattern of my formula and when trying to copy the formulas to the other cells gets the references completely wrong. How do I do this? Some of you will send me back a sheet with the problem fixed but I'm more looking on how to learn to do it myself.

    Please check the attachment.

    Thanks

If you change the formula in C14 to this:

    =C$11/(C$11-$A14)-1

then you can copy it across and down your table. By putting the dollar symbols in the cell references, they become absolute and do not change when you copy the formula in that direction.

    Hope this helps.

If you select C14 and C15 and drag down, it will alternate the C11 cell reference as it is the same ... so you will get C11, C11, c13, C13, C15, C15, ...

If you just select C15 (and across) and drag down, it will work as expected.
