Matching 2 fields snd then pasting the line

    Hello,

Long time browser 1st time poster. My name is Matt.

I have been searching for days and cant find the answer to my question. Very new to Excel.

    I have 2 sheets Excel 2010.

On sheet 1 the employee will put the campaign and the activity number

The campaign and activity number are in sheet 2 which will give more detailed information.

I wish to only copy and past (automatically) the FULL details of tha campaign to sheet 1 IF the campaign number AND the acitivity number match.

Can someone please point me in the right direction as I am not sure how this would be described in Excel.

    Many thanks, Ma77.

Re: Matching 2 fields snd then pasting the line

    Many thanks for your reply.

    Attached as instructed.

i would like to enter info into Sheet 1 D7 and E7.

Excel would look at Sheet 2 find the corresponding line and then paste that into sheet 1, F7 to K7

    Hope that makes sense.

    Thank you v much.

Are you comfortable doing it through VBA / macros?

If you want to do it via formula, you will need to add a helper column to merge both columns D & E in Sheet1 and columns C & D in Sheet2 and then do a vlookup based on the merged field.

    Try this workbook
    Data in Cells D7:E7
    in F7

Drag Across to K7 then down as required.

    Possibly a better non-array formula?
