    Basic Calculation Help

I have the actual numbers that 1200 customers consumed of specific products in one year. I need to show what an increase to 1800 customers will consume based on the consuming numbers of 1200.

I'm thinking: cell=(#/1200)*1800. But I'm confused if I should be projecting based on percentage increase, that is .67; cell=#(1+.67)? Or would percentage show an increse over time and this is just a single instance?

    Thank you,
    Confused

My brain says your initial formula is correct.

    =(A1 / 1200) * 1800

    Re: Basic Calculation Help

Your percenatge increase is 50% i.e. (1800-1200)/1200 and not 66.67%

    As Jbeaucaire said
    =(A1/1200)*1800 is the simplest
    and is the same as
    =A1*(1+(1800-1200)/1200) or =A1*(1+0.5)
