Change column widths on a spreadsheet

Hi
I am trying to make an expense sheet I have managed to do it so so, but I want the lower boxes a smaller size in width than the boxes at the top, whatever i do seems to narrow the whole sheet, can i narrow the columns half way down the sheet.
Any ideas please
Thanks steve

Re: Spread sheet I think

No, columns are the same width from top to bottom.

Thanks for replying, can you not stop half way and then start again beneath the main part

a column width stays the same from top to bottom. the only way to achieve what you want is to use 2 adjacent cells, highlight them and format the 2 cells to "center across". this is similar to "merge", but makes calcs eaier than if you were to use "merge"

so for instance you could use A1 and B1 for a heading/text, and below it you would still have 2 columns for data

if this doesnt make sense to you, upload a sample workbook and i can show you how it works
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Thanks for replying
It does not have to add any thing up or any thing like that its just for putting a x in
The bottom part of the sheet just has 7 days across the top and 3 rows down but does not need to be as wide as the top part
would it be better to attach it so you can see what i mean
