How to get a column that is filled with color on screen to print that way

I am very new to Excel. I am making dividers between data columns the are blank, color-filled columns. They show this way on the screen, but when the sheet prints, the color does not print.

Thank you.

That's very likely to be a printer setting (not the hardware, the Windows definition); can you print colour documents from MS Word? If you have the same effect, it's not excel.

Yes, I can print color documents from Word. I wonder if I just didn't do something right. I highlighted a column, then did the fill color.

OK, so it is Excel; I do not have 2007.
I have 2010, and just checked File Options Advanced for anything as I thought it might be there but no. Sorry I cannot help further at he moment.

if you try a print preview, do the colors show up there?
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

In Office 2010 (and probably 2007) :
File | Print | Page Setup (bottom of page) | Sheet tab | Check Print Black and White is deselected.
