    Reducing values by x%

    I have created a spreadsheet for wind loads and beam spacing - Lets call it 150 B now I would like to create 150 C I would like to take all the values and reduce them by 5% - can't I create a macro or formular to do this for the whole sheet instead of retyping all values.
    Thanks

    Enter 0.95 in a cell, copy, select all the cells of interest, paste special, tick multiply and values, then press OK.

    What options do you have in the paste special window?
    The cell where you enter the 0.95 should be in the same workbook as the cells that you are going to multiply.

    Those are the options you normally get when you are copying from an outside source into Excel. You cannot do anything between copying the cell and selecting the data range where you want to copy it to. Is that what you are doing? I am attaching an example for you to look at. When you are copying the cell (with 0.95 in it) you will see it with a dotted line around it until you are complete.

    Don't select "values" just "multiply"

    This is madding. I am doing exactly what you have told me. I don't have a "snap shot" program and I don't have "pc anywhere" product otherwise I would show you step by step, I feel like I am doing it correctly. Frustrated...thank you

    Another option is as follows;
    in another column, let's say your data is in Col A, beginning in A2
    In B2 (for example)
    =A2*0.95
    and copy that down.
    Then copy the entire column B
    and Paste Special > Values into Col A
