    Table Formulae

Hi, I am trying to set up a football league table. Iam ok with most of the formulae to arrive at a points total. However when the points total of two or more teams is the same then the final position is governed by goal difference. Can someone please help with this formula?

Can you post an example of what you have so far? Makes it far easier to help that way.

In accordance with forum rule#1, you may wish to change the thread title to something a bit more descriptive of your issue.

    11 Norwich 12 2 2 2 10 9 1 2 3 7 13 -5 13
    12 Everton 11 2 1 3 7 8 2 0 3 6 8 -3 13

The goal difference figures of -3 and -5 mean the two teams should be in reverse position to show their correct position in the table

    Hi Ron12,

I actually meant could you attach your workbook.

You see, the solution for you will very much depend on how the league tables are being generated.
Are they compiled using formulas to pull data from elsewhere or are they just manually entered and sorted?

Seeing the actual workbook will just mean it's easier to give you a useful reply.

    S.

    Re: Table Formulae

Erm.. thanks for that but showing the full tables in text format doesn't really help with any of the questions I asked above.

We need to see the actual workbook! i.e. attach the workbook!
