    Vlookup & match

Hi, I need a formula where I can take 2 figures from 2 separate cells that relate to a table on another worksheet, here is an example:

On a worksheet called 'alpha' in cell A1 is the figure 40 and in cell A2 is the figure 30. On a worksheet called 'beta' is a table of numbers of number that I want to relate the 2 figures to from the alpha worksheet to. On the beta worksheet in row 1 (Columns B to Z) are group of numbers and in Column A (rows 2 to 25), these are reference numbers for the table. I need a formula on the alpha worksheet in cell A3 that once I have entered the 2 figures in A1 & A2 it will automatically take the figure from the table on the beta worksheet. For instance if 40 is in cell K1 and 30 is in A15 on the beta worksheet it will automatically take show the number in cell K15.

I hope this kind of makes sense?

    Cheers

    Jon

    Re: Vlookup & match

hi Jon, welcome to the forum. maybe something like this in A3 of Alpha:
    =VLOOKUP(A2,beta!$A$2:$Z$25,MATCH(A1,beta!$A$1:$Z$1,0),0)

if it doesn't work, attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to make it clear what is needed. Include BEFORE/AFTER sheets if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Remember to desensitize the data.
