Where to start?

I want to create a spread sheet that starts with two names column a and b.
then c thru n i want to enter numbers 1-55 in the order i take them of the sheet.
then i want to put the numbers in a thru ??? in numerical order.

once a week i want to be able to enter any 5 numbers between 1 and 55 and have the nunbers be hightlighted. some weeks the numbers may over lap.

so week one could be 1, 5,9,23,52, week 2 might be 1,7,18,24,52

this will repeat until one or more rows have all been highlighted.

Where should i start? is excel the right program?

Create the spreadsheet as per your specification, then go to Conditional Formatting and Select Highlight Cell Rules >> greater than 0

You can also create special custom fill (color highlight) including to choose 2 Color gradient

Hi and welcome to the forum

A good place to start, would be to take a quick look at the forum rules regarding thread titles...I know, I know, no-one reads those things lol, but in this case I suggest you do

Please rename your thread to something more meaningful, that actually describes your problem.

Because thread titles are used in searching the forum it is vital they be written to accurately describe your thread content or overall objective using ONLY search friendly key words. That is, your title used as search terms would return relevant results.

Many members will look at a thread title, and if it is of interest to them, or it falls within their area of expertise, they might only open those threads.

Look at it this way...if you typed that title into google, what would you expect to get back?
To change a Title on your post, click EDIT on you're 1st post, then Go Advanced and change your title
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you
