quick question that may have already been answered but I cant see to find the right search term. Basically I want a cell that can either contain a figure I input or perform a calculation based on a figure in another cell. You see I have one column that divides the annual amount by 12 and displays the monthly amount but I would like the monthly column to times the amount by 12 and display the annual amount.... am I making sense? Sorry if not.
I would not set things up quite that way, just for the simplicity of not having to involve a macro. I would have an input for monthly and and input for annual, then another cell that will do the calculation based on which cell you populate using an IF statement. Alternately, you could set up four columns, input for monthly that is =IF(MONTHLYINPUT="",ANUALINPUT/12,MONTHLYINPUT) and similar formula for ANNUAL calculation
