Merge workbook command not available

Hello forum,

I am new to the forum and have what likely is a fairly easy to answer question. I am attempting to merge workbooks using excel 2011 on a mac however the menu command is not available. Also, when I attempt to share workbooks I receive the warning that this cannot be done as my current document contains tables that must be first converted to ranges. I simply want more than one person with access to the workbook to enter data which would be reflected in the workbook shared by everyone with access. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
