Taking percentage from one column, adding two others for sum

    Hi,

I'm trying to take .40 from one column, adding the sum from 2 others (sometimes 4) and that be reflected in the last...for some reason,
I keep getting a negative number, and it's not correct, lol

    Currently I have:

=SUM(G2)*0.4+SUM(H2:I2)-SUM(N2) which is giving me a negative number...and not even the correct one at that

    Any help would be appreciated

What numbers are in the cells indicated? What value are you expecting and what value are you getting?

They are all positive numbers. It works fine until I try to subtract. G2 is $240.10 (then calculate .40 which would be $96.04) H is $24.50(add the whole) and I is $14.00 (add the whole). I then need to subtract N which is $215.00. I expect to see $134.50 (which is column O)

Re: Taking percentage from one column, adding two others for sum

    240.1 x .4 = 96.04
    96.04 +24.5+14=134.54
    134.84 - 215 = -80.46

So I am not sure why you expect to get 134.50. Perhaps you need to explain further
