    Can someone please help a complete noob out? Help with combining multiple formulas...

    Trying to figure out how to combine multiple formulas for 1 row and 1 column.

    For example:

    Budget sheet has total Net Income After ALL Expenses (which is the sum of Row 35).

    I also need a custom formula for the corresponding Column. This formula needs to subtract values from other cells in the Column and produce the same result as the contents of the sum of Row 35.

    I hope I am making sense! Please help Thanks in advance.

    Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to make it clear what is needed. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are demonstrated, mock them up manually if needed. Remember to desensitize the data.

    Ok, sorry I am a total beginner here

    I have attached the spreadsheet file for you to see.

    I am simply trying to add all of the values in ROW 35 (highlighted in blue) and ALSO subtract the values in the Column cells (Highlighted in green).
    I believe that the total values in the row and column should be the same if the formula is correct.

    Is it possible to have 2 formulas on one cell? like for instance: =SUM(B35:M35); =N6-N18-N31
    Sorry, I don't know if something like that is possible. Really I am trying to understand how to separate formulas. I don't see why Excel cannot calculate row data and column data for one cell.

    Please help.

    What answer are you expecting?

    Could you not just copy the formula from M35 to N35?
    or, based on your example above...
    =SUM(B35:M35)-N6-N18-N31

    Thanks for your help. I don't think what I am trying to do is possible.

    That does not answer my question - what answer are you expecting?

    I am expecting the same answer. End of row = answer, End of column = SAME answer.

    But that's not possible, because if answer changes in column, answer would be wrong for row.

    I dont see how they can be different, even if you do change a value in a row above?

    =N6-N18-N31
    N6=SUM(N27:N30)
    N29=SUM(B29:M29)
    the same for N28 and N27...so these sum their respective rows - and this is what happens in ALL rows that have data entry, and each "column total", sums (or subtracts) down - so the 2 totals must be the same.

    If you want to use the same formula in N35 as in M35 (=N23-N31), all yoy need to do is include a sum() for row 23 =SUM(B23:M23)
