Dynamic Occurance Counter in excel

Hi,

I have a live feed from Bloomberg in my spreadsheet and I want to build a counter that will count if the calculation I made (based on the feed) in a certain cell is equal to 1. In other words, I want to know how many times the cell contained the number 1 during a period of time that the spreadsheet was open.
I want to add, that cell is binary, it can be or 0 or 1 and there are times that it stays on 0 or on one for long minutes. I want to just run the spreadsheet open in the backgraund all day long, and in the end of the day, see how many times it was equal to 1.

OK so I have a problem with that... it seems to work fine when I change the counted cell manually but when it is automated it does not do anything.
Any ideas why?
