Extracting two letters-code based on earliest date

    Hi All,
I have in my report semi-colon separated items that have following format: two letters-Code+dash+number+space+date, e.g. US-199625985P 19960912
I would like to extract the two-letters code from the item that has the earliest date (see attached sheet).
    I really appreciate your help

    Niclal
