    Data Validation default setting

    Hi all,

I was wondering if someone could assist in the following Data Validation problem.

I have 5 validation fields that are dependant on the previous selection (creating a process of elimination the further down you go).

    For example:

Region - Centrl Europe (Cell E5)
    Country - Germany (Cell E7)
Account Type - Key Account (Cell E9)
    Account - Subway (Cell E11)
    Brand - Merrychef (Cell E13)

So each one of the above (after the - ) is a data validation field (Box). It is working great apart from when changing your selection.

As the example stands now, it is correct, however if I change the Region from Central Europe to Northern Europe, the Country field still shows Germany (when I click the drop down it wont and will only show the countries for Northern Europe which is correct).

I am trying to enter a default setting for each time the criteria above is changed.

So as per my example above, if I changed Region now to show Northern Europe, I would like the selections below to show (Select).

    Region - Northern Europe
    Country - (Select)
    Account Type - (Select)
    Account - (Select)
    Brand - (Select)

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!!!

    Re: Data Validation default setting

    Hi,

    Thank you for the replies!

akhileshgs, I have followed that link before, however it helps setting up the Data Validation based on "previous data selction", not defaulting.

So as I said on my post, I have the following Data Validation boxes.

Region - Centrl Europe (Cell E5)
    Country - Germany (Cell E7)
Account Type - Key Account (Cell E9)
    Account - Subway (Cell E11)
    Brand - Merrychef (Cell E13)

When I choose a different selection, I want the boxes below that section to default to (Select).

Eg. So if I change Account Type (Cell E9), I would like Account (Cell E11) and Brand (Cell E13) to now default to (Select).

I hope I am making sense, and thanks for your help in advance!!
