How to auto generate values in a column?

    Hi Guys,

I have a user form into which data can be entered and is populated on the next sheet.

The order ID is unique, is there way I can make the Order ID auto generated each time a record is entered instead of manually keying the number?

    Hi,

Yes just hold a variable cell on the worksheet somewhere that contains the ID#. Then as part of the record entry macro read the variable into a VBA variable, add 1 to it and save it back to Excel and use the increased value in the record entry.

    Hi,

Have you actually tried the general technique I gave you. It's the approach I always use for this sort of thing.

In addition any of Debra's suggestions on her Contextures site will undoubtedly work. Not sure what you mean by if IT is working in THIS kind of DOCUMENT. What is 'it' what is 'this' and what's the document.
