Hi Forum.
At my work we process hundreds of orders a day and with every passing day we are processing more and more orders as we are experiencing a major growth in our company. We are not yet ready to invest in a personalized program and we are managing pretty well with excel thanks to you guys (I mean it!) If it wasn't for excel Forum we would be forced to resort to an expensive personal program (see my previous posts and you'll understand why).
Anyway, with so many orders to process we usually lose focus on the status of the orders and therefore mistakes happen which ends up costing the company extra money. When i say 'order status' i mean
1) Was the order placed?
2) If it was placed when is it coming in?
3) did the warehouse receive the orders?
4) Did the customer pay for his goods?
etc.
etc.
etc.
This information is always entered by us but it used to be that we forgot that it was ever entered and it got neglected. We therefore started using colors to see the status of the orders. This was working great for about a year but now with the numerous orders that are flooding our company and with thousands of orders to navigate through the chart, the colors can also get accidentally neglected as well.
I was therefore thinking of a way that might solve the issues. If you look at this workbook example Orders Chart.xlsx you will see what i mean by colors. These colors are activated by conditional formatting when the applicable cell gets populated. So for example red means we did not place the order, and when the order gets placed we enter the date under column "N" and the color red disappears.
Now, if you look at the 2nd tab which i named "Easy Navigation" you will see the main columns i would like to bring up with for a report that might solve the problem. The yellow box, in the sheet, has a drop down list, i would like to bring up a report for every item in the drop down list when i click on it., so if i choose "All Orders Not Placed (Red)" the report would bring every order that is filled in red from the previous sheet. I would assume that i would need a macro code for this but more than that i do not know. If someone can show me how to do the first report i can then figure out how to do the rest.
Any help on this i will truly be grateful.
Thanks in advance
