Generate a new row for each issue in a database

    Hi all,

I have been asked to make a basic code for my work and I am really struggling with it. I used to have some basic VBA if function and loop knowledge but it appears to have all dried up!

All I need the code to do is generate a new line for each 'issue' in my database. The line will contain some information from another source and is indicated by a 'yes' on my spreadsheet.

Just to clarify I do NOT expect anyone to do any major work, I just want to know if there are any suggestions for functions I can use, I know it's probably very hard to tell with the little information I've given.

Out of interest if anyone was interested in a couple of hours of commissioned work then I'm available to talk all weekend and can provide all the necessary files.

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Many thanks,

    Rory.

Rory what you ask is quite basic.

    Post your files.

Include before and after examples and I'll create the macro for you.

Re: Generate a new row for each issue in a database

Hi Mehmetcik, I've done a faux before and after, just showing which cells I need to copy over. Basically if anything in the R - AG column says yes, I need the 17th cell to the right (issue description) and the other colour coded cells as the issue details.

If you even just do one I can do the rest, you can probably see my pathetic attempt at attempting to set x as the 'data' counter, and z as the variable that generates each new line. I'm really getting stuck on how to copy without doing the lengthy select cell, copy contents, select destination, paste contents.

As I said if you just show me how to do the first I can do the rest.

    Many thanks,

    Rory.

Your sample doesn't tell me which "Yes" to use as a trigger.
