Excel database file, how was it created?

    Hi All,

First of all, I would like to apologize if I'm in the incorrect forum. I have never created or used databases in excel. I recently received the attached file and I would like to create something similar but whenever I try the formatting if off because I have a lot more columns than in the file.

If you look at column V, there is a code that is read in column J. Column J allows a drop down menu with options from column V. When I created my own excel sheet using the same formula in the cells in column V, the drop down menu never appeared. I am sure there is somewhere I have to go to make some kind of little change but I have no idea where.

The few other things that happen is that when you choose something from the drop down menu, the entire row changes color. First of all, where do you put the command for the color? Column U shows the colors being used but I'm guessing that's just for the user, the code comes from somewhere else. The second thing with that, is that the row changes colors up to column r. If I add more columns the don't get colored.

I honestly have no programming experience but I am guessing these are basic questions for anyone who is familiar with this type of thing.

    Thanks in advance.
