Question Timing Macro (to calculate the time it takes to complete a function)

Hi ,can you get me a macro that works as follows:
    1. Select enter
    2. Start counting in 100's of seconds - display time.continously
    3. Finish calculating
    4. Stop counting time
    5. Display time

When you press enter ,the pc will do 10000 (or more or less) calculations without a macro but because there are so many ,it will take time. My pc ,22 and my laptop 135sec. Thanks

    Have you googled it?
    Hope this helps

Sometimes its best to start at the beginning and learn VBA & Excel.

Please dont ask me to do your work for you, I learnt from Reading books, Recording, F1 and Google and like having all of this knowledge in my head for the next time i wish to do it, or wish to tweak it.

    Hi,

In beginning of procedure : Z! = Timer

    In ending of procedure : Debug.Print Format$(Timer - Z, "0.000s")

Sorry downloading Google onto my own (human) hard drive does not work for me ,neither does Google (only if you are extremely lucky and you know exactly what you're looking for) neither does F1 (even more so) . For example ,I googled your PM and you know what? Google did not let my perception down. But ,obviously if you could supply me the exact link that will solve my problem ,you would prove me wrong. Thanks.

You sure, i googled timers in VBA, got a result that will do this.

    About 207,000 results (0.31 seconds)

You need to use this for assistance, not to get people to do your work. Asking for the complete code, generally goes unanswered.

Thanks Nathan sav - my work is done only with only with the function wizards supplied by excel and everything is based on my own pivot tables I write without using the supplied tables or macros which enables me to auto data sort and write 3D spreadsheets.
The references to the macro is Greek to me . I would really be Hall of you can"give" me a stop watch that starts counting when I press enter (my own / any calculation) and ends when the computer is finished calculation it. Thanks ,I will be so glad of you could restore my faith in Microsoft.

no, i have my own work, cause this is just for help, not for people to do your work.

You've spent 2 days looking for someone to do it, you could have learnt it in that time, even in Greek

    All the best.

Dear Nathansav - I come from a Widows (the best) XP environment and I have now inherited a foreign windows 7 and office 2013. Using your suggested F1 drives me up the wall because bill gates decided to hide the auto fit selection which I can't even find with the help of his FIfeature. That's why.
