Hey everyone,
Can someone please help me out? I'd really appreciate pointers.
I have a data set in 3 columns. Column A contains categories, like "Colour," "Size," etc. Column B contains several values for each of these categories, like "Red," "Blue," "Small" etc. and column C has numerical codes for each category, so 1 for each Colour, 2 for each Size, etc.
Can I create all permutations of each value in Column B, except for values that are both in the same category? For example, "red large", "red small", "large red","small red" and so on, BUT NOT "blue red" and "large small?" Ideally all these new permutations would be created in Column D.
I'd also like to create the corresponding permutations from Column C (the number codes) and put these permutations in Column E.
There will not be a fixed number of categories in Column A, or a fixed number of values in any category.
Thanks in advance for any help, I've been struggling with this for a while!
