Ignore hidden rows when filtering and de-selecting range issue

The (sample) macro was recorded to filter rows of tasks based on team roles. (This workbook is primarily cells with text.) Two questions: (1) what code can be added to ignore all hidden rows when filtering? (2)After filtering, the Range (D3:D706) is highlighted and cells outside of it cannot be selected. Is there a simple adjustment to the (recorded) filtering procedure or to the macro? Thanks! David

Re: Ignore hidden rows when filtering and de-selecting range issue

    Hi, David,

if you manually have hidden rows they might be visible after using the Autofilter if they match the criteria. You would need to store the information of the rows which are hidden and compare the status after running hte macro to the stored and hide these rows again. But I wonder why you would need to do so as that is partly against what I understand the Autofilter to do.

You might omitt selecting the range priop to running the macro. Itīs due to the macro-recorder that a range is selected first and worked on later but I doubt that being hte reason for stating that no other range outside should be selectable (I would suspect either Protection or soem event being the reason for that).
