Conditionally Formatting Rows/Columns depending on the time elapsed. 2 Days = Yellow etc.

So I wanted to know if it was possible to conditionally format cells to turn yellow and red depending on the time elapsed.

    For Example:
If starting B1:Q1 are the headers I want my students to use as a live sheet, I want the Rows to be filled out individually by student.

So lets say if a student writes in their name in column F, a timer or clock would start on column G.
so if a student fills out their name in column F and if column G isn't filled out in 2 days I want that column in that specific row to turn yellow, and in 5 days to turn red.

Next, if a student writes their name in column H, a timer or clock would start on column I.
so if a student fills out their name in column H and if column I isn't filled out in 2 days I want that column in that specific row to turn yellow, and in 5 days to turn red.

When is answered 'yes' in Column J then start timer on K.
If J is answered yes and if cell is blank then after 1 day K is yellow and after 2 days and its red
If answered no fill in N/A for K and L

most of the rest is the same after column L so I think I figure the rest out up to Q.

Any suggestions or instructions to go about and do this?

I wouldn't go anywhere near conditional formats for that.

You are basically asking for a date stamp.

we use macros to insert datestamps. normally dates but no reason why they cannot be colour fills.

right click on the file name at the bottom of excel and select view code.

Paste this code there and edit it to do what you want.
