    Hello robrobet,

You do realize that A1 will override whatever is in C1. Is this how it should work?
    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

    cf example.xls

Is this what you want? Clearly when two conditions exist you'll need to decide which CF overides. Use the order button and the tick to stop so that it gives you your desired outcome

Change the order. Put the two "white' formats as 1 and 2 then the red and grey format as 3 and 4 and tick the boxes to tell it to stop when it triggers that CF

Re: Conditional Formatting change cell colour base on value

Sorry I did not got it, C1 is not staying white, can you do it on the sheet for me. May be I did not explain my self very well.let me explain this way
a1 blank c1 blank then c1 stay white
a1 blank c1 have text value then change it to grey
if I input in a1 (0 or 1 ) that override and change to red.

    thanks for your time.
