This was working until i used a formula to get the month name that this is pulling from. It shows up on the source workbook as the name of current month. I need the above to just pull the text not the formula.

That line of code is building a formula then assigning it to a cell. What do you mean by "I need the above to just pull the text not the formula"? Do you want to assign a value to the cell rather than a formula? If that's what you want, the easiest way is to do this. Normally I would say get the data from the source but it's in a different file making that more complicated.

this is pulling a date code. I am using
to insert the month name. It works but it just formats the cell to only display the month name. if you know of another way to get the month name without using format it might work.Please Login or Register to view this content.

Glad it helped! The issue in the description was that the cell has a date value, and you want to extract the month as text. This is different than saying that you want text, not a formula. It has more to do with how Excel works than VBA. Best of luck and we hope to see you back again.
