Colour adjacent cell when column contains text but not time Excel VBA

Hello

I've created a spreadsheet where you can type a text into column C and it'll colour the two adjacent cells (as well as remove the colours when you remove the text) but when I enter a time E.G. 16:00 it'll still colour the two cells which I don't want it to do.

I know I can use conditional formatting to achieve this but I'd like to do it in VBA as I'm under a strict file size and will have thousands of rows of data at any given month so I want to use VBA if possible.
