Dropdown list returns selection as a variable

I have a workbook where I perform an advanced filter and from there create a dropdown list. Now I need to have the user select an item from the dropdown list. This selection then needs to be "read" and use this selection to copy the specific items to another workbook. Right now, the only stumbling block for me is how to take the selected item in the dropdown and assign it to the variable name.

Any help in the right direction is appreciated.

    Thanks.

Exclamation Re: Dropdown list returns selection as a variable

Actually, another way would be to pause and have the user select from the drop down list. This would then populate a cell. I would be able to read the cell as my input.

How can I stop the macro to allow the user to select from the drop down? Then the rest I have working.

    Thanks.
