    VBA Open Save As Dialog

Hi, I wonder whether someone may be able to help me pleas.

Using this site as a source:http://www.learnexcelmacro.com/wp/excel-macro-tutorial/, I've put together the attached sheet which fetch files from a specific folder path and lists them on the sheet.

You'll see in it's current format there is a link against each file which opens the file but I'm looking at how I may be able to change this so rather than opening the file it open the 'Save As' dialog window, but I must admit despite hours of searching, I'm still none the wiser.

I just wondered whether someone could possibly look at this please and offer some guidance on how I may be able to achieve this.

    Many thanks and kind regards

    Chris

Hi @gmr4evr1, thank you for taking the time to reply to my post.

Forgive me for asking, but could you possibly tell me where I should include this line.

The script below creates the list and as you can see I've implemented the line you kindly provided, but it's still opening the file.

Try it on the line before End Sub

Re: VBA Open Save As Dialog

Hi thank you for coming back to me with this. Unfortunately this doesn't work because the 'Save As' dialog now appears before each file is added to the list.

    Many thanks and kind regards

Re: VBA Open Save As Dialog

I am just guessing as to where to put it because I am not sure where it should be. Try after the Next File Item line. I tired to use your sample workbook to figure it out, but I can not run the any of the code for some reason

Hi @gmr4evr1, thank you for coming back to me with this. Forgive me perhaps I didn't explain this enough but you won't be able to retrieve any files unless you insert your own file path to extract the data from. then make sure the checkbox for 'Fetch all files' is selected then click the 'Fetch All Files' button.

    Kind regards
